Runanga starts backyard trapping

Over Christmas the Runanga Village People purchased 20 weka-proof rat trap boxes from Picton Dawn Chorus along with 20 Victor rat mechanisms delivered from Predator Free NZ. These traps have been distributed to 18 properties in Ruananga who have joined the backyard project, with two traps going into the Kotare Domain. They will look at purchasing some stoat traps to compliment the rats traps later this year.
